Delete iCloud accounts from iPhone via password recovery
The fastest and most efficient way to delete iCloud accounts from iPhone without a password is to use the password recovery procedure. In this way, it becomes possible to delete the Apple ID from without knowing the access key, even if two-factor authentication is enabled. Below you will find everything explained in detail.
Account with two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication is the best way to ensure maximum security for your iCloud account. When it is enabled, it allows you to reset the password after verifying your personal identity, either through your phone number or through another device associated with the same Apple ID.
To be able to delete an iCloud account protected by two-factor authentication from the iPhone, you tap on the iOS Settings icon (the gear-shaped one located on the Home screen), tap your name and, upon reaching the summary screen of the Apple ID, tap the Exit button at the bottom.
Now, the Apple ID Password screen should open, allowing you to enter the access key: to start the password reset procedure, type an incorrect one, tap the Disable button and repeat this operation again another time.
If everything went the right way, iOS should offer you the possibility to reset the Apple ID password: to accept, touch the Reset password button and, if you have an Access code enabled, proceed to enter it on the next screen and, once the authentication has been performed, enter the new password in the fields proposed to you.
Otherwise, tap on the item Forgot access code, then on the Continue button and, when prompted, enter your Phone number in the text box displayed on the screen. When you’re done, tap the Next button located at the top right and tap the Reset button with phone number.
After a few moments, you should receive an SMS containing a verification code: if this is not automatically recognized and entered in the Verification code field, you should do so to access the next screen.
Afterwards, indicate the security code you have set on one of the other devices combined with the same Apple ID, press the Next button and, to conclude and specify the new password, type the new password in the Password and Confirm boxes and tap the button Forward.
At the end of the password reset procedure, the disconnection phase from the Apple ID should start automatically: specify whether or not to keep some data of the configured account (eg Safari data, contacts and so on) by acting on the appropriate levers and, when you are ready, touch the Exit button, to dissociate the iCloud account from the iPhone.
If you no longer have access to the phone number, you must instead press on the item Do not have access to your registered number? and choose the Reset option from another device, so you can change your password via another device (be it an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Mac) associated with the same Apple ID.
Next, you should see the message A message with instructions has been sent to [device name]: when this happens, access the indicated device and follow the instructions that are proposed to you, to change the password.
For example, if the recovery device is a Mac, you must click on the notification. Reset the password that appears at the top right, select the Show item and, after pressing the Reset password button, indicate the new access key in the New fields. password and Confirm password, then click on the Continue button.
However, once the password reset procedure has been completed, return to the Settings screen [your name] of the “iPhone by”, tap the Exit button located at the bottom of the same, enter the new password in the text field attached to the Password screen Apple ID and tap the Disable button.
To conclude, choose whether to keep a copy of the data linked to the Apple ID in the iPhone memory (eg Bag, Contacts, Keychains or Safari), intervening on the appropriate levers, and completing the operation, touching the Exit item located top left.
Account without two-factor authentication
If your account is not protected by two-factor authentication, the procedure you need to follow to reset your password is slightly different.
First, go to the iPhone Settings, touching the gear wheel icon located on the iOS Home screen, tap your name and then the Exit button attached to the panel that appears next.
At this point, enter an incorrect password in the text field that is shown on the screen, tap the Disable button and repeat the same procedure once more, until the Forgot your password screen is shown.
From there, tap the Reset password button, verify that the Apple ID is correct (if necessary, enter it yourself), tap the Next button and indicate the recovery mode you prefer to use, choosing between Use security questions and Use email.
In the first case, specify your date of birth, tap on the Next button, enter the answer to the security questions you had set when creating the iCloud account in the Answer field and, when you’re ready, tap the Next button located top right.
Finally, enter the new password in the Password and Confirm fields, tap the Next and End buttons and you’re done! If everything has gone the right way, the disconnection of the iPhone from the iCloud profile should start automatically: specify, therefore, whether or not to save some data related to the iCloud account you are about to delete and, when you are done, touch the item Exit at the top right.
Otherwise, go back to the Settings menu> [your name], tap the Exit button located at the bottom and follow the same steps I showed you a moment ago to complete the disconnection.
If, on the other hand, you have chosen the Use email option, you should receive the password reset instructions directly in the inbox: open the email received from Apple (you can do it from any device you prefer), press the button Reset it available to connect to the Apple site, enter the new password in the appropriate fields and press the Reset password button.
Once this is done, go back to the iPhone, go to the Settings> [your name], tap the Exit button at the bottom of the screen and, after typing the new password in the appropriate field, tap the Disable button. Also this time, specify whether or not to keep some iCloud account data using the appropriate levers and, finally, tap the Finish button.
Now that you’ve finally managed to delete the iCloud account from the iPhone (which also involves disabling the Find my iPhone, the “anti-theft” system of iOS), I suggest you delete it from the devices associated with the corresponding Apple ID .
To be able to do so, connect to the Apple account management website (if you want to enter it manually, the address is https://appleid.apple.com) via the app you use to surf the Internet (eg Safari) and log in to the portal using the Apple ID and password you previously reset. If necessary, complete the two-factor authentication by entering the code received on the device.
At this point, touch the Devices item, then the name of the iPhone on which you have deleted the iCloud account and, to conclude and finally dissociate the iPhone, press the Remove from account and Remove buttons.
In case of second thoughts, you can again pair the device with your Apple ID by logging in again via the Settings> [your name] section.
Delete iCloud accounts from iPhone remotely with password recovery
If, on the other hand, you had not activated two-factor authentication, you will see the “classic” procedure: to execute it, tick the password box, in order to specify your intention to reset the password, press the Continue button and then choose whether to start the recovery procedure by receiving an email or by answering security questions. Once you have made your choice, click on the Continue button.
Now, if you have chosen to proceed by email, open your inbox, select the message received from Apple and click on the Reset button contained within it. On the page that opens, type in the new password you want to use (in the text boxes that are proposed to you) and click on the Reset password button.
If you had decided to answer the security questions, indicate your date of birth in the appropriate field, click on the Continue button and enter the answer to the secret questions in the text boxes displayed on the screen. It’s almost done: when you’re ready, press the Continue button, type in the new password you want to use in the fields that are proposed to you and click on the Reset password button.

Once the password recovery phase is completed, connected again to the initial iCloud web page, enter your credentials in the appropriate fields and click on the arrow to log in to your account.
At this point, click on the Find iPhone icon, then on the All devices located at the top and select, from the list proposed, the name of the iPhone you want to act on to display it on the map.
Now it’s really done: to finish, click on the Initialize iPhone item located in the new screen that appears, press the Initialize button and, when prompted, enter the previously created password.
The initialization phase will be started as soon as the iPhone is switched on and connected to the Internet: until this happens, you will see the message Initialization pending and you will have the possibility to cancel the reset to the factory parameters by clicking on the Request initialization interruption button.
As soon as it is started, instead, you will see the message Initialized [Time], along with a button to Remove the iPhone in question from the account: if the device no longer belongs to you, or you no longer intend to use it in association with your iCloud account , press the aforementioned button to completely dissociate it from the profile in use.
Note: if you do not have a computer available, you can complete the remote iPhone initialization using the Find My iPhone app, available for iPhone and iPad. The steps to follow are practically identical.
